HISTORY OF TAXONOMIC MYCOLOGY IN BELARUS:
A BIBLIOGRAPHIC SURVEY

Chytridiomycota and Blastocladiomycota

The records and taxonomic data on this phylum of lower fungi in Belarus are very poor. Olpidium brassicae (Chytridiomycota) was recorded by Kuprevich (1931, Harmful…; 1931, Fungi…). Eight species from the genera Physoderma (Blastocladiomycota) and Synchytrium (Chytridiomycota) were described in handbook on ornamental plant pathogens by Gorlenko (1969), without distribution data. Synchitrium endobioticum was described and illustrated by Dorozhkin and Belskaya (1979: 156–163). Three Synchytrium species were reported from Belarus by Golubeva (1983).
