Viñales, morning mist. This scene, taken in the early morning from the hill overlooking the settlement of Viñales, shows morning mist in the valley bounded on its other side by the province's spectacular Mogotes mountains. The occasional palm tree can be seen peeping out of the mist which covers the tobacco and taro fields of the village. The picture was taken during field work for the Darwin Initiative project Fungi of the Caribbean. December 1998.
