Byrsonima crassifolia (L.) Kunth [in Humboldt et al.]

Leaves very variable in size and shape, oblong and elliptic, to obovate, ovate, lanceolate or oblong-linear, 3-17 cm, pointed or shortly acuminate or obtuse, commonly hairless or almost so on the upperside, when mature, densely pubescent on underside, or hairless with age, less so on midrib; elongated towards the base, petiole short; rhachis of panicle and pedicels with red tomentous hair; sepals ovate, 3.5-4 mm, glands half the lengh of the sepal; larger petals 7-10 mm; drupe globose, 9-12 mm diameter.

Common name: peralejo de sabana.
