Canella winterana (L.) Gaertn.

Tree of 3-15 m, bark white, aromatic; leaves 5-10 cm, obovate-elliptic, rounded at the apex, elongated towards the base, veins prominent on both sides; sepals 2-3 mm, petals 4-5 mm, fragrant, red; berry 8-12 mm, purple-black.

Common names: cúrbana, malambo, palo malambo.
