Erythrina cubensis C. Wright

Leaflets ovate to broadly ovate, mostly 2-4 cm or slightly longer, obtuse or shortly acuminate; flowers in short racemes; calyx broadly bell-shaped, 9 mm; vexillum 3.5 cm, wings and carina obovate; much shorter; pod largely stipitate, apiculate, contracted, 18 cm long, 8-9 mm wide; seeds oblong, 8 mm long.

Common names: piñón de costa, piñón de sierra, piñón espinoso.

Species endemic to Cuba.
