Guarea guidonia (L.) Sleumer

Tree up to 15 m; paripinnate leaves; 4-10 pairs of leaflets, elliptic, lanceolate-elliptic or obovate-oblong, 8-24 cm long, obtuse or abruptly acuminate; calyx short, entire or dentate, hispidulate; petals oblong, 5-7.5 mm, free, white-green, very pubescent on reverse; stamen tube entire or slightly lobed; disc elevated, with a ring of rigid hairs; ovary directly attached to disc, pubescent; capsule obovoid or globous-obovoid, 1.5-1.9 cm diameter, mottled brown; seeds 9-13 mm.
