Gymnanthes lucida Sw.

Bush or tree up to 10 m, branches grey; petiole 6-15 mm; leaves oblong-obovate to oblong-oblanceolate, obtuse to elongated at obtuse apex, obtuse to elongated at base, 5-14 cm long, 2.5-4 cm wide, brilliant, almost entire or often glandular-serrated; spikes about 3 cm, androgenous, red or yellow; 1 male sepal; 2-5 stamens; ovary on gynophore; fruit pedicel 1.5-2 cm; capsule 7 mm; seeds almost black, 4-5 mm.
