Slim tree 1-2 m, hairless or hairy; petiole 2-5 cm; leaves of very variable shape and size, linear, ovate, obovate, lanceolate, 3-5-lobed, or entire, the lobes rounded or acuminate, the base rounded or heart-shaped, mostly 8-14 cm, margin entire or dentate, base palmate; cymes with peduncle 6-10 cm; bracts linear-lanceolate, sometimes glandular; male sepals ovate, obtuse, 3 mm; petals 10-12 mm, oblong, obtuse, red; ovary hairless.
