Leptocereus ekmanii (Werd.) Knuth

Prostrate or almost upright, with slim branches; ribs 6-7, crenate; areoles in depressions, orbicular, spines 10-11, yellow to grey; flowers 2 cm; ovary with many non-prickly areoles, scarious, lanceolate; tube with numerous areoles, with short spines; intererior segments oblong, yellow, style exserted, with 5 branches; fruit unknown (after Flora de Cuba ).

Species endemic to Pinar del Río, considered under threat or serious threat because of its restricted distribution.
