Machaonia havanensis (Jacq.) Alain

Bush or small tree, up to 3 m, minor branches spiny or hirtellous; stipules small, obtuse or rounded; leaves ovate, rhombic-ovate to elliptic-oblong, 3-15 mm long, 3-10 mm wide, acuminate to obtuse at base, rounded to pointed at apex, slightly coriaceous, glabrous or with small hairs; cymes pauciflorous, calyx densely haired, lobes deltoid-ovate, slightly pointed; corolla white or yellowish, 1-1.5 mm, with small hairs on outside, lobes rounded-oval; fruit turbinate, 3-4 mm, with small hairs.

Species endemic, growing on calcareous rock.
