Rhizome trailing, densely scaled; scales linear-attenuate, 5-7 mm long, bronze to brown-red, denticulate, peltately united slightly higher than the base; leaves far apart, extremely variable, glabrous; petioles almost absent to 15 mm long; leaf-surface oval or elliptic, 1-3 cm long, or linear to lanceolate, 3-12 cm long; fertile leaf much longer than sterile, and more uniformly up to 16 cm long; middle sori at the end of a free vein including an areole; paraphyses brown and few in the round and exindusiate sori.
