Plant growing on stones or soil, rarely epiphytic, rhizomatous, stem up to 43 cm; primary stem or rhizome short, robust, covered with imbricate veins; secondary stem modified to pseudo-bulb, erect, orbicular to oblong, up to 5 cm long, 3 cm wide; leaves coriaceous, oblanceolate to orbicular, up to 20 cm, 5 cm wide, olive green with small dark grey-green patches; inflorescence lateral, stem up to 42 cm, racemous to paniculate, up to 25 flowers; floral bracts lanceolate, acuminate, up to 5 mm long, 1 mm wide; sepals brown, brilliant, top sepal oblanceolate, concave, up to 11 mm long, 2 mm wide, other sepals oblanceolate to elliptic, concave, up to 9 mm long, 2.2 mm wide; petals elliptic to oblong, 11 mm long, 4 mm wide; labellum free, 14 mm long, 12 mm wide; column wide, up to 7 mm long, 3 mm wide, anther white; capsule up to 3.2 cm long, 8 mm wide.
