Spathelia brittonii P. Wilson

Tree up to 10 m; leaves 40-70 cm, rhachis pubescent; leaflets 49-63, elongated lanceolate, 7-10 cm, directly attached or with short petiolule, crenate-dentate up to about the centre, elongated at glandular apex, pubescent with stellate hairs; panicle 1.5 m, branches velvety-tomentose, petals purple, 6-7 mm.

Common names: bonita de sierra, protocán.

Species endemic to Los Mogotes de Pinar del Río.
