Collectors & Other Generators of Records

The following list provides the name of each person who collected specimens or otherwise generated the records used to make the present maps of Georgian fungi. After each name, in square brackets, is the number of records associated with that person. In some cases names are incomplete because, for example, the handwriting on a specimen label may be difficult to read. There are many problems in representing names transliterated from the Cyrillic alphabet. Names of individuals may be transliterated in many different ways, initials are often partly or wholly omitted in the source material, and names may exist in both Ukrainian and Russian forms. As a result, it is often difficult to edit names into a standard form. It therefore frequently occurs that the same person appears in more than one place in this list, and the following list is presented "as is" with no guarantee of accuracy.

    Identifiers

The following list provides the name of each person who identified fungi in the records used to make the present distribution maps. After each name, in square brackets, is the number of records associated with that person. In some cases names are incomplete because, for example, the handwriting on a specimen label may be difficult to read. NB redispositions of fungal names during editing and subsequent curation of the data are attributed as identifications by the database manager, making some numbers in square brackets artificially high.
